In the 1970's Mr Richard Howe together with his twin brother Niel had ventured into various business activities which included National Property Supermarket, Inter city Estate Agents and East Yorkshire Developments Limited trading from their offices in Hull . During this period several developments in the Barton and North Lincolnshire area were purchased or developed to include sites at Westwoodside , New Holland , Broughton , Gainsbrough, Winterton and several sites in Barton upon Humber .
In 1981 the company Howe Renovations (Yorks ) Ltd , was formed to purchase from the Calderdale Council a 16 storey block of flats at Dodgeholme Court , in Halifax, which led to in excess of seventy flats being available for let by the company. The development of Dodge Holme Court in Halifax led to the secretary of state, the Rt.Hon. Ian Gow being invited to inspect the completed ninety six flats and was accompanied by Mr A.R. Howe and Mr R.W Howe.
The company later were involved with building projects to include developments in South Ferriby , Barton Upon Humber and Kirton Lindsey and also currently with barn conversions at Chapel Farm, Brigg Road, Barton. The company being registered with the National House Builders and Zurich Building Guarantee also specialise in maintenance and refurbishment of residential property. The company is under the control of Mr. S.A Howe.
Mr A.R. Howe, who was involved in the refurbishment of Pease Warehouse in Hull where in excess of one hundred flats were introduced to the then Secretary of State, The Rt.Hon. Michael Hessletine MP, at the development following the successful conversion.
The family had involvement in the refurbishment of Victoria Mills in Grimsby which led to one hundred flats being completed, with the group retaining an interest in a number of completed flats.
The Howe Group and owners of A & N Estate Agency have continued to increase their portfolio each year and more recently have started to invest in holiday homes in Tenerife and other European destinations.
